The Federation of Trade Union of Xiangfan and the Xiangfan’s Businesswomen Association started a program last year where 19 businesswomen offered financial scholarships to 22 needy college students.

Promises of 1,000-3,000 yuan each year for four years were made.

However, after one year, the group has decided to renege on five students.

Indian givers?

Hardly.

In fact, two-thirds of the 22 beneficiaries of the scholarships didn’t write a letter, take time to say ‘thank you’ , to acknowledge receipt, say kiss my butt, anything AND one who did write back mainly discussed how poor his family was and how much he needed more money.

Some of the businesswomen refused to sponsor the ‘cold-blooded students’ anymore.

The other seventeen students will continue to get their money this year…and hopefully learn how to write.

One person tried to explain why the students didn’t write -

1. a sense of pride or feeling embarrassed.

2. some took the money for granted because they thought they were good at their studies and ‘deserved’ the money.

Kind of reminds me of the 10 lepers that Jesus healed. One came back to say thank you and the other nine went on their way.

Some things haven’t changed in 2000 years.

More evidence that nobody has ever said, “Gee, I wish I had been drinking at the time.”

A woman on her way to pay respects to a dead relative apparently had to have a drink to get her in/out of the mood.

She ended up smashing a few headstones and tombs before she drove her car into someone else’s grave!

Police had to pull her out.

Damages to the grave and the woman’s car totaled around $24,000.

What the police should have done was left her there…in the grave.

Then, perhaps when/if she ever sobered up perhaps the reality that she indeed drove herself to her grave would sink in.

Do you know anybody who has lost their life to drunk driving? I do.

Geography does NOT limit where stupid people can be found.

I thought America had more than their full share, but Spain has a mother who does not want to be left out.

A 33-year old woman tried to prostitute her two-year old daughter in a brothel in northwestern Spain.

The woman allegedly offered her two-year old little girl to a man to have sex with in exchange for cash.

The woman….was carrying cocaine on her at the time.

While the woman was trying to sell off her little girl, she left her 7-year old son at a nearby bar.

The woman said she was desperate for money because the children’s father would not give her any…so…authorities turned the two kids over to the father.

Gee…that ought to solve the problem.

Thank goodness, nobody took the woman up on her offer.

Japan in many ways still has very traditional roles for men and women. Right or wrong, agree or disagree…they are still there.

Men have their place and women have theirs.

When the women don’t assume their ‘rightful’ place, men try to force them to…one way or another.

The 58-year old president of an advertising agency in Shizuoka admitted to drugging a 28-year old female subordinate and then taking her home where he fondled her for about an hour…then got bored, I guess.

The president now faces charges of indecent assault, not to mention having to deal with family and workplace shame….another strong Japanese tradition…saving or in this case, losing face.

Why is it that people will do the most stupid things because of sex?

I have never ever heard anybody say, “Gee, I wish I had been drinking at the time.”

A dad, his daughter and her stepmother apparently had a dozen too many drinks.

The girl went to the bathroom where she passed out.

Later, she woke up, well half-way woke up, to find her father doing the dirty with her…involuntarily on her part.

The 48-year old dad who’s secret alias is being a dentist told her “I can’t believe I’m having sex with my daughter.”

Yeah, police and the rest of us somewhat normal people can’t believe either that ‘ he was committing incest and raping a person under a controlled substance.’

When both were sober, though not necessarily any more in control of their wits, the girl confronted her father. He responded unknowingly on tape, that he thought his daughter was ’sending him signals’ and wanted to have ’sex with him as a way of father-daughter bonding.’

Not only do I believe in sexpidity (sex makes people do stupid things) the state of being is magnified when alcohol is involved.
