Church Gets Hit by Lightening Twice…on the Same Day

God showed how good his aim is by allowing lightening to strike a United Methodist Church in Oregon twice on the same day.

The steeple of the 117-year old church did not tumble, but weaknesses in the structure were exposed.

Beams that held up the steeple were so rotten that a finger could be poked into them.

Yup…sometimes we have to be hit by lightening, though not taken out, just to find our weak places and fix them before we hurt somebody else.

Nebraska Senator Sues God

The defendant is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still.

A Nebraska state senator says he is suing God, seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty.

Good luck if he wins the suit.

The senator says the lawsuit was triggered by anger over another lawsuit he considers frivolous. The senator says he wants to make a point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

The other suit – a district judge was sued for violating a woman’s free speech rights because the judge had barred words such as ‘rape’ and ‘victim’ from a sexual assault trial.

A mistrial in the sexual assault was declared in July because pretrial publicity made it impossible to gather enough impartial jurors.

“First, shoot all the lawyers.”
