The city of Amsterdam wants to change the light bulbs in its red light district – from red to any other color that doesn’t imply that there are prostitutes available for hire or otherwise. Actually, they just want to change the window ads.

To the tune of $21 million, Amsterdam wants to clean up its act.

Prostitution is legal in the Netherlands and has been since 2000.

The kind of customers that they get also traffick in women, exploit them and engage in other kinds of criminal activity.

Gee…are they surprised?

Tourism is big business….they like to gawk at the girls.

The prostitutes have a union.

“We believe that less windows means more exploitation of women.”

“If the windows close down, women who are being exploited will be hidden somewhere else where union representatives and health workers can’t make contact with them.”

“The city should go after pimps, not real estate.”

The city of Amsterdam has earmarked up to 15 million euros to compensate for the loss of value when the prostitutes are no longer there.

If they like investments outside of the Wallen can go to

1. prostitution

2. gambling

3. coffee shops

4. cannbis cafes allowed to sell marijuana

Don’t expect Amsterdam to come clean too soon.

I recommend city officials in Amsterdam give city officials in Las Vegas a call.

This sounds like something I’d do.

A 36-year old man put on a weight belt but NO underwater breathing apparatus and dove into a water hazard to retrieve golf balls.

The man and his cousin were working for a Houston-based golf ball collection firm.

The operative words – were working.

The man drowned. He went down but didn’t come back up.

The police are saying there was no evidence of:

external injuries

foul play,

alcohol

drugs.

His cousin is still fetching balls to be cleaned and returned to the club.

Oh, the police did find puddles of stupidity left around the edge of the water hazard that were running into the lake.

I tell you. If there was a cop under the covers with me and the girl I was doing the dirty with, I’d know it. I mean….come on.

Cops are hiding in the bushes and giving nudists and amorous couples fines of $75 to $175 for baring their bodies, and/or engaging in sexual acts in public…on the beach.

The couples mind the citations, but are angry more at the cops watching them.

Uh…gee…how about, they keep their clothes ON!? What a novel idea that is.

And, how does a cop work undercover on a nudist beach anyway?

Maybe it’s the guy with his clothes on…..hmmm

Pope Benedict XVI instructed priests to make confessions a top priority.

US bishops are making plugs in:

1. diocesan newspapers

2. mass mailings

3. on billboards

Protestant churches are urging believers to shred their sins in paper shredders.

Even the Lutheran church passed a resolution supporting the rite.

Three Catholic priests are now hearing confessions at a mall in Colorado Springs…while they pay $14 for a 12 minute massage, too, I suppose.

The resurgence in repentance is a result of aggressive marketing by churches.

It’s not confession…it’s the first step to self-improvement.

Some go so far as to air their confessions on videos and share them on YouTube and iTunes.

Uh…I have an idea, too. How about getting down on your knees and confessing your sins and asking the Creator for forgiveness?

Then…find the person/s you wrong and do what it takes to make it right or get forgiveness there, too?

A Romanian priest and four nuns gagged and chained to a cross without food and water until she died, another ’sister’ they said was ‘possessed’ by the devil.

The court said the priest and nuns illegally confined the other nun and murdered her.

The priest and nuns, however, are maintaining their innocence saying they acted to deliver the young 23-year old woman who suffered from psychological problems, from evil.

There is an outcry in Romania against the “mediaeval” practices tolerated by the Orthodox Church, to which a majority of the population belongs.

I’ll say….

And, does anybody wonder why so many people want no part of organized religion?

Seven years in prison is NOT enough.

A 51-year old teacher is going to jail for a conviction of using his computer to access child pornography…243 images and eight video clips somehow, mysteriously got onto his computer.

Italian police tipped off British police who made the bust.

The Catholic High School teacher has been suspended.

He taught biology and was the head of grade eight at the school.

“I am not going to destroy all of that by doing that sort of thing,” he told the court.

Nope…the judge will see that he throws it away instead.
