‘Californication’ Boycott

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to know that there are at least a few professing Christians down under…about 30 of them.

A Catholic priest said that about 30 people (preacher’s count) got together the first week and more the second week to protest Ten Network’s drugs, sex, and vomit-laden program Californication.

Tell me, now, why wouldn’t anyone want to watch people do drugs, have sex and vomit on TV? Come on, now!

The 30+ people are calling for a boycott of the sponsors of the show.

In order to identify the sponsors, someone from the church group was designated to record the show.

It’s kind of like the preacher hanging out in the porn shop to learn what to preach against.

A spokeswoman for the program responded, “the title of the show should ‘alert parents that it is not suitable for children.’”

And the network is worried about these 30 some people because of why?

Californication – is that the best name they could come up with?

And, do Aussies really watch this kind of program?

If so, I am staying away from my planned trip down under.
