I guess we’d all better think twice about asking grannie to watch the kids.

A 47-year old grandmother is suspected of giving her grandchild two drinks from a gin bottle in hopes that the little girl would pass out so she, grandma, could go out.

Mom was working a 12-hour shift at the time.

An anonymous tip got the police to the apartment and a breath test showed the girl had an alcohol level of 0.42%, half the legal limit for driving. No consolation there…the 9-year old was already home.

The test, however, was taken 8 hours after the drinks were given to her.

The little girl remembered vomiting, hitting and head, the blacking out.

Yeah…that’s pretty much how it goes when you have too much to drink.

The grandmother is in jail…and should be left there.

Well…at least grandma did get to go out.
