Some of the best lessons I have learned in life come from people I never met.
I would like to share some of the ‘words of wisdom’ that I have picked up over the years.
John F. Kennedy said:
The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.
(When things are good are when we should take action, not when they are bad. We do not run from bad situations but move toward better ones…)
A child miseducated is a child lost.
(This is why I am a teacher.)
Let us never negotiate out of fear but let us never fear to negotiate.
(We should fight only when words fail us.)

A woman, drunk as a skunk, called 911 from her pickup truck.
The woman’s boyfriend, also drunk, told her to call police because she was too drunk to drive.
She did – called the police on herself.
Police were waiting for her when she got home after she gave them her name, type of vehicle, location and ETA at home.
0.14
A $740 fine and loss of driver’s license are possibilities for this, her first offense.

An ex-student told police she freaked out after giving birth to a baby girl in the toilet of her dorm room.
She thought the baby was dead when she put it in a trash bag and dumped it. Later when the baby was found, the newborn was dead.
I can’t imagine. We just welcomed a new baby girl into our family not two days ago.
What to do in the event of freaking out to be included in future college orientation classes maybe?

Days after first being arrested for helping himself in a car alongside two teenage girls, a 52-year old geezer was released only to be arrested again for exposing himself.
The second arrest had a reason – side effects from drugs he was taking for restless leg syndrome.
Which leg was restless, I wonder?
The third tiny leg in the middle perhaps?

Some of the best lessons I have learned in life come from people I never met.
I would like to share some of the ‘words of wisdom’ that I have picked up over the years.
Margaret Thatcher said:
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.
(the opponent doesn’t always give up the first or second time, neither should I.)
I do not know anyone who has got or gotten to the top without hard work. That is the recipe.
(hard work…her father was a grocer.)
I’m extraordinarily patient provided I get my own way in the end.
(I’ve said this numerous times, while waiting for negotiations to come to fruition.)
Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.
(Being a leader is like…the same.)
People who stand in the middle of the road get hit by cars going in both directions.
(Make a decision and stick to it…we used to say in the Navy.)

I would like to share some of the ‘words of wisdom’ that I have picked up over the years.
Franklin Roosevelt said:
When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.
(I have never been to the end of my rope, but I know what to do when/if I get there. Sometimes the difference is just not giving up.)
We, and all others who believe in freedom as deeply as we do, would rather die on our feet than live on our knees.
(Freedom is not usually free, is it?)
More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginnings of all wars.
(Our current administration should have taken this to heart about 6 years ago.
