Charles De Gaulle – Words of Wisdom

Some of the best lessons I have learned in life come from people I never met.

I would like to share some of the ‘words of wisdom’ that I have picked up over the years.

Charles de Gaulle said:

How can one conceive of a one-party system in a country that has over two hundred varieties of cheese?

(People have different tastes. We must learn to accept one another with our diversity.)

Silence is the ultimate weapon of power.

(The scared dog barks the loudest.)

Every man of action has a strong dose of egoism, pride, hardness, and cunning. But all those things will be regarded as high qualities if he can make them the means to achieve great ends.

(You have to be selfish sometimes to accomplish great things. The difference between selfishness and greatness is the outcome.)

What’s your favorite quote? and why?
