Hospital Rules Out Knitting
Knowing just how dangerous hospitals can be…perhaps from reading previous posts here at Wispid:

Part 5 - Choose Your Hospital Well (part 5) - woman loses finger

Part 1 - Hospitals Not So Safe Anymore?
A British hospital is taking precautionary measures by requiring patients to ask for permission at the hospital’s reception desk before they will be entrusted with the hazardous equipment.
Relatives and patients at the hospital used to knit squares and purl pieces that were turned into blankets and donated to charities. Then one day…a health safety knucklehead came along and didn’t like the box of wool and needles.
Thus a “sensible and proactive measure” was taken to ”avoid preventable accidents.”
Well, if I ever need to go to the hospital, I hope they send me there.
Get cut on, maybe.
Loose a finger, maybe.
Fall into a box of wool and knitting needles…not going to happen.
