Master Cleanse - Routines and WakeUps… (Day 9)
When my kids were little, they had no concept of time. They did, however, know what it means to go to bed and wakeup.
"When are we going to the beach, papa?"
"In 5 more wake-ups."
They measured time by how many times they had to wake up.
I have one more wake-up. Tomorrow is day 10. Whoopee, yea, hooray and all that. Sort of.
In the past nine days I have settled into a routine.
6-7am - Wake up to an active lower intestine. It depends on what time I drank the smooth move the night before. It usually takes about 8 hours to work its, um, magic.
Head for the throne room and have a think.
Check deposits. Even after nearly nine days of absolutely no solids, I still need some cleaning, albeit, very little.
Go to the kitchen and make some lukewarm water. I nuke a quart of cold filtered water for two minutes and it comes out just right…puky warm. Add two tablespoons, er, teaspoons of sea salt and head to my study.
I am a Bible reader so I read and pray while I try to get the quart
of sea salt water. I am not sure what takes more fortitude…to be a
faithful Christian or to down the drink while gagging. Answer: being a
Christian.
Somewhere, around 7:30ish I finish drinking in the Word and the water.
Turn on the computer.
7:30 - 10:00amish I read, scan, Chinese news sites, Japanese news
sites, education news sites and offbeat news sites, not always in that
order, to see, bookmark, tab, what it is I want to write about that
day.
10am-1pm…write like a big dog.
During those two time periods I drink my pee water, um, lemonade mix.
I have a one quart bottle that I bought a long time ago. I drank at
least that much water every day before the Master Cleanse. Now I drink
that much lemonade everyday.
The bottle is golden pee-colored. A friend of mine saw me carrying
it once and asked me if I was recycling. Yup, when filled with water,
even more so when filled with the lemonade mix, it looks like a bottle
of pee. Beginning to taste like that to me now, too.
1pmish, if I am finished with all or most of my writing…I bike to
the gym…very slowly these days. It is about 3+ miles one way. At the
gym, I run a couple of miles and read for 20 minutes or so in a 170
degree sauna.
2:30pmish I am back in my study chugging down more of the drink.
Besides maintaining the three blogs, PanAsianBiz, RisingSunOfNihon and TheBizOfKnowledge for a living, I also facilitate classes on line for University of Phoenix.
I work on these classes till around 6:30pm. I will also do more posts at my blogs if my online classes are not too active.
6:30ish, my wife comes home and we talk while I watch her eat. By
this time I have usually finished the whole quart of lemonade. I spend
the rest of the evening drinking water if I feel like I want something
in my belly.
7:30pm - we take a walk.
8-10pmish - we usually watch a dvd. Last night we finished the
Prison Break season one. It feels good to have my mind off not eating.
10pmish - I make the lemonade for the next day. It should be
squeezed in the morning but I am the want-to-be-prepared for the next
day type, so I do it the day before.
Sometime during the movie or dvd I make the senna leaf tea and usually drink it near the end and just before I go to bed.
Not too exciting…I know. But, it’s a routine, or maybe a rut. And they are usually very hard to get out of.
One more wakeup …and I am positive, this daily pattern will NOT be hard to break.
