The ubiquitous Craigslist…it was just a matter of time.
Here in the Bay Area we say that you can find anything on Craigslist.
I sold a Steinway upright piano to a guy in Australia who saw my ad in Craigslist. I am in the Bay Area and the piano was in Houston, TX.
Well, some girls from San Francisco, Miami, Newark and Brooklyn had something else to sell … and they figured, gosh, if Bay Area Bill can sell a piano in Houston to a guy in Australia they can probably sell…um, themselves.
All eight of them were snared in a sting operation.
In July…a sheriff in IL rounded up 60 women who advertised on Craigslist.
In FL, police netted 33 men.
Craigslist is the favorite of prostitutes say police…by far the favorite.
I just took a quick look at Erotic Services offered in San Francisco. After hitting the page some 10-11 times (100 to a page) I hadn’t even dented the offerings that were posted just today.
Police say Craigslist enables prostitution.
Craigslist’s president says its 24-member staff can’t patrol the 20+ million changing posts per month and that they rely on users to flag objectionable ads…which, in turn, get removed.
Yeah…guys looking for a prostitute will surely be inclined to tell police they found something…to be sure.
Sex and stupid…messing up a good thing ….like Craigslist.
