Apple shower in town stuns residents
‘Its raining men’, but in one of the British towns it was raining apples. In December 2011, more than 100 apples mysteriously dropped on a small town.
About 20 yards of the city was covered by the unusual apple shower falling on the streets and car windshields. The bizarre fruit rains was then immediately compared to one of the biblical tales of raining frogs.
But no one actually came to know where the apples came from. On the other hand senior meteorologist from the British Weather Services, Jim Dale said that the weather at the moment is very volatile and such situations could occur more in future.
Dale added that such an event could have occurred when a vortex of air forming a mini tornado, could have lifted things off the ground, rising up in to the atmosphere until the air ground causes them to fall on the earth again. But the witnesses said that the weather in Coundon in Coventry was stable and calm at the time of the apple shower. Some of the residents even explained about possible events like a passing plane, roving teenage pranksters and even witches.
