Benjamin Franklin – Words of Wisdom

Some of the best lessons I have learned in life come from people I never met.

I would like to share some of the ‘words of wisdom’ that I have picked up over the years.

Benjamin Franklin said:

Wise men don’t need advice. Fools won’t take it.

(I tried long ago to accept the wisdom of people I respected so I wouldn’t have to learn life’s lessons over again, and instead learn some new lessons of my own.) ben.franklin.jpg

Bewareof little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.

(My wife is still trying to teach me this.)

The heart of a fool is in his mouth, but the mouth of a wise man is in his heart.

(sometimes we need to listen to our heart)

He was so learned that he could name a horse in nine languages; so ignorant that he bought a cow to ride on.

(hah! always learning but never knowing the truth is how the Bible puts it.)

If a man could have his wishes, he would double his troubles.

(What do you wish for?)

What’s your favorite quote? and why?
