Chessboard Killer Asked Victims to "Drink to the memory of his dead dog."

A Russian supermarket worker, dubbed the chessboard killer because he had hoped to put a coin on every space of a 64-place chessboard…one for each victim…was caught, tried and s found guilty of 48 murders, three attempted murders.

He also admitted to killing 11 more people.

He is considered one of Russia’s most prolific serial killers.

I can’t imagine someone getting away with more murders, but then what do I know?

He lured most of his victims to secluded parts of Bitsevsky Park in Moscow, got them drunk on vodka, then smashed their skulls in with a hammer or threw them down a drain.

His victims were elderly, or those with drug and alcohol addiction…thus throwing police off who would not find out for months that someone had been killed because no relatives came forward.

Companionship to ‘drink to the memory of his dead dog’ was his signature line.

The killer threw his victims down drains even they were alive and begged him to spare them.

Some had vodka bottles stuck in their shattered skulls for assurance they were really dead.

Still don’t believe in the death penalty?
