Dead Marine’s Father Sues Church in Invasion of Privacy vs Freedom of Speech Issue

The father of a dead Marine said the Westboro Baptist Church turned his son’s funeral into a media circus, replete with a bunch of clowns carrying signs -

“Thank God for dead soldiers.”

“Roman Catholic monstrosity”

“United States of Sodomy.”

The judge instructed the jurors to consider -

“whether the defendant’s actions would be highly offensive to a reasonable person, whether they were extreme and outrageous, and whether these actions were so offensive and shocking as to not be entitled to First Amendment protection.”

Church members said they were motivated by the ‘fear of God.’

Yeah…I’d like to put the fear of God in them.

Military personnel fight for freedom of speech so that idiot religious fanatics can speak freely…to the point of letting children carry signs -

“Semper Fi Fags”

And we wonder why so many people want no part of the church…or at least the Westboro Baptist Church.
